Now in Stock – Mick Sussman’s Selected Works (CD)

Last June, Mick Sussman‘s avant-garde project, The Rosenberg Algorithmic Music Generator: The Complete Early Works, ended. The project included 365 singles, released during one year.

Behind the project discerns Sussman’s own software program, The Rosenberg Algorithmic Music Generator. It is able to create unique compositions, making thousands of decisions based on a sequence of randomized processes. The titles were generated randomly as well…

The resulting compositions – mesmeric, microtonal, rhythmically intricate, seemingly purposeful and surprisingly varied – demonstrate the potential of partially automated creativity. “Rosenberg” is freakishly prolific: it can crank out music as fast as a human can process it, 50 hours and counting, according to Sussman.

Simultaneously, Sussman’s The Rosenberg Algorithmic Music Generator: Selected Works, Vol. 1 was released digitally. These tracks were created after the first 365… Now they are out on CD. Order here or on Bandcamp.
